OUR SCHOOL COUNCIL AND AMBASSADORS

SDC13876

WHY DO WE HAVE A SCHOOL COUNCIL?

It is a way for children to raise issues and concerns.

It is a structured forum for discussion and decision-making.

It creates a feeling of belonging, and encourages listening to others.

It helps children develop responsible attitudes.

HOW DOES THE SCHOOL COUNCIL WORK?

OUR SCHOOL COUNCIL MEMBERS

Our School Council is made up of pupils from Years 5 & 6, along with Mrs Plank and Mr Cline.

The Y6 team of Ellie (Chair), Alex (Secretary), Maddie W and Lewis welcomed the Y5 team of Tom, Seth, Ella and Lola to their first School Council meeting. They discussed ways to improve the school and came up with many ‘spotacular’ ideas for Children in Need day on Friday 17th November. More details to follow…

You can read the minutes of their meetings, once they are published, by clicking on the Word documents below.

OUR LEARNING AMBASSADORS

October saw us welcoming our new school year Learning Ambassadors. Jodie, Charlie, Freya and Freddie took a visit to Silverdale Primary Academy to see how and what they are learning. They observed lessons, took a learning walk around their the learning environment and brought back some fabulous ideas that you may see around our school in the future.

The child-friendly Christian values  grids below were completed by the Learning Ambassadors/School Council members.

OUR BUSINESS AMBASSADORS

Our Business Ambassadors’ latest visit was to food retail outlets. Rachel and Joe from Year 6, accompanied by Mrs Golding, visited Coast Coffee and Café des Arts in Hastings. They discovered that some of the main requirements for this industry are a Food Hygiene qualification, and to make good eye contact. They finished the trip with a hot chocolate!
