Teaching Assistant

Guestling Bradshaw CE Primary School is a warm and welcoming, school set between Hasting and Rye.  We have a strong emphasis on care and respect with a dedicated team of staff who strive to instil our Christian values in all aspects of school life. We are dedicated to preparing our pupils for life-long learning by supporting them to be resilient, enthusiastic, collaborative, respectful and independent learners. We are looking for an energetic person who is self-motivated, adaptable and positive about providing opportunities for all our children to flourish and grow.

The role is varied in the support you would provide for our children, and will vary from taking small groups, working with individual children or supporting the whole class.

We also appreciate the value of continuity from Teaching Assistant Role to Midday Supervisory Assistant role, in supporting our children therefore this vacancy will include lunchtime duties.

The successful candidate will:

•  Compassionate and patient, with a good sense of fun.

•  Be intuitive and responsive to the needs of the pupils.

•  Have excellent communication skills.

•  Have an interest in working with children with SEND, particularly those with ASD

•  Demonstrate the ability to provide consistent, calm and nurturing support whilst maintaining clear behavioural boundaries.

•  Be able to use initiative and make professional judgements related to pupil learning to ensure pupil dysregulation, stress and anxiety are managed effectively. 

•  Have bundles of enthusiasm and creativity, with a desire to nurture a love of learning in all our children.

•  Be highly organised and forward thinking.

•  Be passionate about making learning fun, relevant, enjoyable and challenging. 

•  Support the teachers in creating and maintaining a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment.
